Pelargonium curviandrum is a deciduous geophyte, a perennial herb growing from a tuberous rootstock that resprouts after fire. When in flower the plants may reach 20 cm in height.

The species is endemic to the Little Karoo where it grows from Montagu to Oudtshoorn, the photo taken southwest of Oudtshoorn.

The habitat is sandstone and clayey slopes where the plants grow under guarri and their associated shrubs. Ostrich farming is affecting the land where this plant typically grows, causing the habitat population to be considered vulnerable early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; iSpot; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
