Pelargonium carnosum subsp. carnosum leaves

The purplish brown margins of the Pelargonium carnosum subsp. carnosum leaf lobes have some shine on their angular teeth in the photo. Faint hairiness is present on the leaf surfaces more away from the margins. The channelling on upper surfaces of the leaf lobes connects to the midrib channel like tributaries of a river.

The leaf blade is so deeply incised that the midrib appears like a winged rachis. The channelling of the leaves disappears from the petioles. The lobes are angled towards the leaf tip, ascending along the sides (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; iSpot).
