The season peaks for Pelargonium crithmifolium in a dome-shaped covering of numerous, small flowers. For a few days this is the epicentre of insect trip destinations of the neighbourhood.

The tiny, tree-shaped markings, pink-purple at the bases of the round-tipped upper petals, match the anthers in colour. There is the Pelargonium fragrance too.

Every pollinator species has perception endowment that uses particular environmental cues for finding its targets during a feeding trip. Apart from open flowers this bush also has buds and fruit. The camera records its selection while missing smell (and more) but includes lost content from a calyx (Le Roux, et al, 2005).
