Pelargonium crithmifolium flower antherless with age

The crest-like magenta markings at the base of the upper petals of this Pelargonium crithmifolium flower appear flame-like. Many pelargoniums have such markings that assist in the identification of some of the species.

The otherwise white petal surfaces, oblong in shape with rounded or variable tips, already show some damage to their delicate surfaces, although the flower still has a fresh appearance. Thread-like white stamens and a (longer) pale purple style with branched stigma are visible in the flower centre.
