The pink tinge that may occur in the early stages on Syncarpha paniculata flowers is still present here. The pointed involucral bracts in the outer rows have opened in a regular pattern of orderly, same sized acute angled tips, not yet exposing the florets of the central discs. The yellow central discs will dominate later with the bracts all spread widely (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
