    A leafy Struthiola tomentosa stem seen close-up may be very hairy. The hairs are whitish and long. The paired, pointed leaves with upturned margins forming a scoop-like shape ascend, closely overlapping upon the stem.

    An occasional solitary flower protrudes over the leaf, emerging from its axil (Bean and Johns, 2005).
