The inflorescence of Schizochilus zeyheri is a dense spike of up to 30 bright yellow flowers. The tip of the spike that becomes from 5 cm to 10 cm long, droops characteristically. The floral bracts are ovate, tapering to acutely pointed tips. They are shorter than the open flowers. Flowering happens from late spring to early autumn (Pooley, 1998; www.africanorchids.dk).
