Romulea vlokii is a cormous perennial that reaches heights from 20 cm to 35 cm. The toothed corm has a pointed base.

Several narrow, quill-like to thread-like, channelled leaves are grown from the base.

The species distribution is in the east of the Western Cape, the Little Karoo from Montagu to the Swartberg and Kammanassie Mountains and coastally. The photo was taken in the Swartberge.

The habitat is moist, sandy fynbos and renosterveld on mountain slopes. The species is considered vulnerable in habitat early in the twenty first century, due to crop farming and invasive alien vegetation (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
