In profile, the Romulea rosea flowers reveal their longish, funnel-shaped corolla tubes, the yellow inside the cups repeated on the outside. The out-curving upper tepal parts have dark, feathery markings. On some of the varieties, notably var. rosea, these markings may be firm parallel lines, while the inner colouring is softer.
The long, green, acutely pointed sepals are straight, borne close to the corolla (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist; Wikipedia; https://www.fernkloof.org.za).
