The flowers of Romulea rosea have pink to pale lilac or deeper purple and occasionally white petal lobes. The specific name, rosea, Latin for rosy, refers to one of the flower colours. The lobes spread around yellow cups that often have dark rims around the top of the yellow. In picture, there is no rim but three dark stripes from inside the cup to the base of each spreading lobe, the central stripe the longest. The corollas spread to a diameter of about 2 cm.
Bloomtime is from before midwinter to after midspring (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist; Wikipedia).
