Streptocarpus dunnii budds

The buds of Streptocarpus dunnii grow clustered on an erect peduncle that may succeed the earlier inflorescence, a many-flowered, elongated raceme above the leaf.

The deep orange-red flowers start off even darker in slightly club-shaped buds. Gland-tipped hairs may be present on the outsides of the buds. Several literature sources say that the plant produces only one leaf, but not all.
