Streptocarpus dunnii, the crimson streptocarpus, is a stemless perennial reaching heights around 20 cm. The species may be monocarpic, dying after flowering once, when a few years old, but this isn't certain.

The species distribution is in Mpumalanga and Swaziland.

The plants grow in montane grassland at higher elevations among rocks or in seasonally moist bushveld, often ensconced in crevices among boulders. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2009; Onderstall, 1984; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
