Salvia repens is an easy to grow, common herb with rough, aromatic leaves. It grows several soft square stems from the spreading rhizomes that earned it the name repens, which means creeping. The flower clusters are blue or white. Flowers are two-lipped and small. The blooming occurs from spring to autumn. It is said to withstand low winter temperatures well (www.plantzafrica.com).
