Searsia erosa or commonly the broom karee is a small tree or shrub bearing distinctively long, narrow, three-foliolate leaves that start off light brown.

The species is similar to S. tenuipes which occurs in Zimbabwe and East of Swaziland, whereas S. erosa is found naturally in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Lesotho and the southwestern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
