Consistent with the floral structure of the Satyrium genus, Satyrium coriifolium flowers have two tubular spurs curving down near the stem behind the dorsal petals. The spurs visible on flowers in the photo are fairly long. Some orchids have nectar in their spurs, a discovery to be made by the pollinators.
The upturned lip crest is short in these flowers, still conspicuous like a bonnet fringe in the front of the globular floral part.
Not all plants of a species bear their inflorescences in equally compact fashion. This one presents a rather lax or loose spike of flowers, leaving stem parts visible among the flowers (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
