Satyrium trinerve bears its compact flowers among conspicuous bracts in a dense, somewhat conical spike.
The flowers are white, apart from the median sepal and lateral petals that are sometimes yellow. The sepals become about 5 mm long. The lip forms a hood with broad entrance over the flower centre. The short spurs vary in length from 1 mm to 5 mm. Flowering happens early in summer (Pooley, 1998; www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
