Satyrium trinerve grows two to five stem sheathing leaves, narrowly lanceolate with acutely pointed tips. There are three veins from the base of each leaf, the leaf surfaces slightly pleated with the veins raised on the lower surface. These leaf veins gave the plant its specific name of trinerve. The leaves become from 6 cm to 25 cm long (Pooley, 1998; www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
