The beginnings of a Tylecodon wallichii subsp. wallichii flower stem has sprouted here in the centre of the stem-tip rosette of this year’s leaves. Small leaves upon the tiny flower stem are already present. If all goes well, it will be tall above the encircling leaves before the first flower opens.
Seen in October after good rain near Barrydale, the strong, young leaves show now channelling (yet) upon their about terete upper sides (Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
