The thyrse-shaped Tylecodon cacalioides flower cluster is pale yellowish green on its pedicels, hairy calyces and the lower corolla parts of the buds.
The ridged corolla tubes bulge in bud where the mouth and separation of the petal lobes will be when the flower opens. The bud tips show tiny elongation of the petal lobes, separating ever so slightly before the flowers open.
Once open, the petal lobes will spread and recurve, more so as they age. The lobe margins in picture curve in on the petals of the open flowers (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
