The fruit of Wahlenbergia nodosa is an about globose capsule, initially green. When ripe and dry it splits open (dehisces), the three locules operating separately for releasing the seeds.

The corolla disappeared before the fruiting stage, the sepals now providing the star-shape around each fruit perimeter. When green, the calyx covers most of the fruit body, leaving only the top uncovered. Some ripe fruits bulge more at the top.

The seeds are small (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
