Wahlenbergia pulvillus-gigantis

One last white flower of Wahlenbergia pulvillus-gigantis is blooming here amidst some drooping green ovaries. They are developing on red peduncles with the withered petals of their faded flowers still attached.

The delicate outwardly curving petals of the intact corolla are narrow, with purple, longitudinal lines down their centres inside the corolla tube. Several of the admired Wahlenbergia flowers have wider petals. The white three-lobed stigma is also visible in the flower throat. Stamens are attached to the petals at the base.
