The dull green leaves of Wiborgia tenuifolia are trifoliolate, the leaflets obovate to oblanceolate with entire margins and folding in on the sides. The leaves are stalked, the leaflets not. The leaflets are hairy in picture as the stalks and upper branches, more so in the west of the species distribution than towards the east of the Little Karoo where they are hairless.
The old stem in picture has grey bark, longitudinally ridged. Gnarled protrusions remain where leaves had dropped off (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
