    The upper stems of Viscum rotundifolium seen here are angular or channelled in green, grey-green or olive green. The older, thicker stems morph into cylindrical and grey of several shades. Leaves disappear from old stems that are rendered woody.

    Note the shape difference between the two undamaged leaves, as well as the fleshy appearance of the leaf surfaces. The leaf tip in picture has a tiny apical protrusion.
