The Trachyandra falcata inflorescence seen here appears healthy, although not vigorously opening many flowers at this time.
The open tepals are angled out, their rounded tips curving in. The brown lines up the tepal blades appear narrower on inner than outer tepals; tepals grow in two whorls of three each. Hairiness on the outer surfaces is restricted to the lower parts.
The narrow, upper bract parts are browner than the tepal lines. The pale, broad, lower parts of the attenuating bracts (visible on the buds at the top of the raceme), are not hairy but fleshy or membranous (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
