Flowering has nearly reached the top of the main Trachyandra falcata raceme. The march of the ring of open flowers begins at the base of the raceme, ending like this. The energy for opening more flowers seems to be running low.
If the plant does not manage to flower more, promise of seed production is already established from many past flowers below, although the bulges of ripening fruits appear small, maybe failed. Each single flower capsule produces a multitude of seeds if properly developed (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
