The sun behind a Zygophyllum debile flower reveals faint translucence of its petals. The superior ovary is still small when the flower is in its prime. Later on it will swell and dominate beyond the calyx.

At this stage the ten stamens are still present with long, curving filaments around the greenish style, ready for interaction with would-be pollinators. There are two fleshy appendages present at each filament base, some visible in picture. The pale brown anthers are oblong, lobed and short, attached to the filaments near their midpoints (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
