The flowers of Zygophyllum lichtensteinianum are usually borne solitary on long peduncles. The five pale yellow petals spread, a dark purple-brown marking visible near the base of each petal that attenuates into a narrow section.
The bunch of erect stamens protrude from the flower centre, or at least prominent in it. The stamens have small fleshy appendages present at the base of each filament.
Flowering happens in winter and spring after rain (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
