Zygophyllum microcarpum fruit may go through a colour phase as yellow as seen here.
The blades of the fruit suggest rotation that may spark ideas about air travel in the minds of elves or trolls; that is if brooms are no longer fashionable in their world or witches do not offer lifts.
Leaflet shape and hairy surfaces are well displayed on leaves on this branch. The bulging leaflet is asymmetric, a more pronounced curve present on its lower margin than the upper (in most cases).
The sturdy cylindrical (and grooved) leaf stalk ensures the characteristic angle between the leaflets, as well as the orientation by which the inner blade surfaces face each other, obliquely (Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; iSpot).
