    Brachylaena elliptica trees are single or multi-stemmed, the bark pale brown or pale grey, becoming longitudinally grooved. Young twigs are finely hairy.

    The stem in picture seen in a garden at Nature’s Valley, is still quite smooth with scattered lichen patches (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Pooley, 1993).
