The Braunsia apiculata flower in picture has slightly oblanceolate petals with rounded tips that sag slightly. Stamens and staminodes don’t cohere neatly any longer in the initial cone erect in the flower centre.
Much branching and old stems result in leaf pairs and flowers to be spaced as in the photo, not nearly sustaining the rounded shape of thriving young plants (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
