    The superior ovary of Bulbine succulenta is green and cylindrical. The two whorls of perianth segments or tepals spread from below it. Also the stamens emerge from below the ovary, but they are angled up into erect positions, encircling the style.

    The ovary is topped by the greenish yellow style ending in the tiny, flat-topped stigma. The stamens reach about the height of the style, their fluffy beards not touching the anthers.

    There are small bracts at the bases of the pedicels (Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
