Bulbine praemorsa leaves

The leaves of Bulbine praemorsa are thickly succulent, their margins curving in slightly to render the leaves channelled on the inside. The leaves decay into fine fibres at the base, new ones growing annually. Some decay has started from the leaf tips in picture.

When leaves are healthy to their tips, an acutely tapering point that sometimes curves in is visible. Fine longitudinal lines run vertically along the leaf surfaces, although not easy to see in the photo. Leaf colour is green to brownish green. Leaves may become 35 cm long and up to 1 cm thick (Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
