This Drosanthemum speciosum shrublet is well covered in flowers along the low-growing dome formed by its stem tips. This colour transformation from green happens annually at the end of the winter rains. The display explains the plant’s popularity with gardeners; several Drosanthemum species share this well-deserved status.

The flowers are about 5 cm in diameter. The glistening leaves are cylindrical and curved, up to 2,5 cm in length (Smith, et al, 1998; iSpot).
