The leaves of Drosanthemum speciosum are opposite, the pairs well spaced on the erect stems that appear to be covered in short hairs here. The leaves are angled up and curving in. The leaf bases are not fused. The leaves are thickly succulent, somewhat triangular in cross-section, although the angled ridges on the margins and keel are softened by bulging beyond strict angularity. The leaf tips in picture are somewhat rounded and red.
Note the variable shapes of the sepal tips around the buds yet to open (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
