    The spur of this Disa roseovittata flower is curled into a strange circular shape. It is usually fairly straight, long and thin, pointing away from the flower at its back.

    The dark pink colouring upon the tips of the lateral petals are about similarly represented on the inside and outside surfaces of the petal blades. The lateral sepals curve down in similar fashion as the flower’s lip in this photo.

    Only the tips of the floral bracts have become dry and brown in the photo (iSpot; www.orchidspecies.com).
