Several flowering and fruiting stages of Delosperma leendertziae may be observed concurrently on a thriving, mature plant.
Petals angle out, forming a shallow bowl in the open flower, sometimes not yet spreading in too young ones, while losing petals already from old ones. Fleshy maroon fruit surrounded by erect sepals and pale grey, dry fruits that have lost their sepals are all on show in the photo.
The dark green, often nearly erect and outcurving leaves are bluntly pointed and channelled on their upper surfaces. The thick, semicylindrical leaves become from 1 cm to 2,5 cm long (Smith, et al, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist).
