Delosperma lavisiae flowering

Abundant Delosperma lavisiae flowers can be eye-catching during the warmer months in the higher elevation inland grassland.

The longish stalked flowers grow solitary. There are leaf-like bracts below the unequal sepals. The purple-pink petals are narrowly spoon-shaped. The flower centre is ringed by thread-like, small, inner petals and possibly also whitish staminodes around the stamens (Smith, et al, 2017; Smith, et al, 1998).
