Gorteria integrifolia, previously Hirpicium integrifolium, is a common Little Karoo shrublet. The shiny hairiness of upper stems, leaves and involucral bracts on the base of the flowerheads is characteristic.
The long dark bristles at the tip of every involucral bract are conspicuous on the flowerheads. Only some leaves curve. The upper stems are maroon (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; JSTOR).
