Although the vertical array of Trametes versicolor bracket fungi is pretty neat, the cap sizes make one wonder which one was there first and how growth rates differ in individual brackets or caps.
The similarity of bracket colouring is fairly but not quite consistent. Some in picture have two narrow blackish rings, others only one.
The species is, however, recognisable by the many similarities repeated in the pattern, always ending in a white outer fringe until it wilts (iNaturalist; www.mushroomexpert.com; Wikipedia).
