Buds, flowers of different stages, as well as pink-winged fruits are all present (and notably stalked) on these productive branch-tips of Osteospermum sinuatum var. sinuatum.

Called skaapbos or Karoobietou, the plant is a single-stemmed shrub of the west, south and centre of South Africa. It flowers from before spring to after it.

This is a palatable, much browsed fodder plant for the game and stock of the region (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
