Rhynchopsidium pumilum is but one of the daisies that bloom in spring in the Biedouw Valley. Yellow is often the number one floral colour here, as well as in many parts along the South African west coast; an apt colour for meeting and honouring the sun in spring celebrations.
The branches of these geelsneeu (yellow snow) plants radiate horizontally around the centre, spreading along the ground and curving up at their tips where the flowers are presented (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
