These paired seed follicles provide one of the unusual packaging designs of the plant world. Some follicles of genera in the Apocynaceae or oleander family occurring in genera like Huernia and Stapelia resemble the horns of small African antelopes. When the dehiscent follicles burst open to release the seeds, the silky tufted or winged seeds, flat in many species, are distributed by the wind.
