The leaves of Hemimeris sabulosa in picture are long, oblong, attenuating slowly into their petioles. The slightly rough-surfaced, fleshy blades that curve down notably lengthwise have recessed midribs with hardly any evidence of other venation.
The upper surfaces are purplish brown with only hints of green on top but more strongly green on the lower surfaces. One or two angular lobe pairs or large marginal teeth are present on some leaves.
There is a withered corolla divulging that three of the five calyx lobes are about erect, the other two spreading and broader as is usual (Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
