At night in grassland the white flower centre parts of Habenaria kraenzliniana inflorescences may appear spooky. The colour difference focuses the parts where pollination has to happen, away from the thread-like embellishments of dangling lateral petal and lip lobes.
Some habenarias are known as ghost orchids, fragrant at night and pollinated by various moths, including hawkmoths and settling moths. Other species are served by diurnal insects, particularly butterflies.
H. kraenzliniana is probably unscented and its pollinators not known (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org; https://sterkfonteincountryestates).
