Growing in grass, this Habenaria cornuta inflorescence stands up straight among the arching Themeda culms. The colour and shape contrast between the plants in picture should be enough for pollinators to reach this destination, where their invasive food searching activities are welcomed, effecting pollen transportation.

The stem leaves of H. cornuta are oval to oblong, at most about 10 cm long and 3 cm wide, grading into the floral bracts. There is no basal leaf rosette (Pooley, 1998; www.orchidspecies.com).
