Habenaria dregeana concluding the flowering stage

This Habenaria dregeana inflorescence has reached the end of its seasonal flourish in typical grassland habitat. The inflorescence is densely flowered, becoming about 11 cm long. Flowering happens from late spring or summer to early autumn. The plant is sometimes used as a charm for safeguarding huts from lightning (Pooley, 1998; Lowrey and Wright, 1987).
