Habenaria dregeana flower

The greenish flowers of Habenaria dregeana have broadly tapering, triangular sepals becoming about 7 mm long. The dorsal sepal forms a hood over the central floral parts, particularly the column. The pair of lateral sepals tend to curve near their tips.

The lateral petals are bilobed, the upper lobes adhering to the flanks of the dorsal sepal, the lower, smaller ones curving outwards and up.

The lip is three-lobed, the central one biggest and pointing downwards. The spur growing downwards from the back of the lip is usually nearly 1 cm long. It has a broad mouth and is thickened at its tip (Pooley, 1998; Lowrey and Wright, 1987).
