The inflorescence of Habenaria filicornis becomes up to 20 cm long, bearing few to many flowers. Small stem leaves, lanceolate to elliptic in shape, are scattered up the stem, grading into the floral bracts. The whitish flower centres above the lip lobes are prominent, the spurs and bracts appearing tangled behind.

Flowering happens from late spring or summer, sometimes continuing to mid-autumn (www.zimbabweflora.co.zw; www.orchidspecies.com).
