Habenaria filicornis has small green flowers. The dorsal sepal is erect, forming a hood over the column. The lateral sepals are deflexed. The lateral petals are pressed against the sides of the dorsal sepal.
The three lip lobes are linear, the middle one slightly longer and wider than the lateral ones. The spur growing from the lip base becomes up to 3,5 cm long, straight or slightly curved (www.zimbabweflora.co.zw; www.orchidspecies.com).
