Habenaria pseudociliosa flower

The small green flowers of Habenaria pseudociliosa have curved ovaries that are nearly sessile within their bract coverings. The ovaries become up to 1,2 cm long. The dorsal sepal, broadly ovate in shape and up to 5 mm long, is hooded over the column. The lateral sepals spread; they are obliquely lance-shaped with acute tips and as long as the dorsal one.

The lateral petals are narrow, adhering to the dorsal sepal margins and reach about to the tip of the hood. There is a tiny second, insignificant petal lobe at the base.

The tripartite lip has oblong lobes, the lateral ones slightly shorter than the middle one that becomes up to 4 mm long (www.africanorchids.dk; www.orchidspecies.com).
